Hello everyone, welcome back to the second (and last) installment of my mini series. On Saturday I gave you a few suggestions on how to get the blight lip look for spring or summer without breaking the budget, and today let’s talk about products from the other side of the price spectrum. Quick warning though – this post can make your beauty wish list grow or even make you want to run to the closest department store and splurge 🙂

My selection of shades in this post will not be as good as in the drugstore one, but if I do decide to spend big bucks on one item, I want to make sure it’s something I wear enough times to make it worth the price…I hope you like pink and coral shades on the lips as much as I do 🙂

First up are soft pinks, Lancome Rouge in Love Lipstick in the shade Coral in Love (1.) is one of my favorite lipstick of all time. I even wore it on my wedding day and it looked absolutely perfect. It’s a light coral pink with warm undertone. Definitely a splurge worthy product. YSL Kiss & Blush Babydoll no 8 (2.) is a bit cooler and lighter, but works great as safe, everyday shade. It’s also a multitasking product so you can use it on both your cheeks and lips for a matching look.

The only orange-toned high end lip product in my collection is the YSL Glossy Stain in no 7 (3.). Glossy stains are great but if you decide to get them, make sure you use them quite often because overtime the consistency changes and they become a lot more sticky and start to flake off on application.

Next two products are quite new to my collection, but they are quickly becoming my favorites. Bite Beauty High Pigment Pencil in Corvina (4.) is a must have if you like the comfort of a lip balm and the pigmentation of a lipstick. It’s an extremely bright shade that looks great on many complexions, but for some reason it can also make your teeth appear slightly more yellow. I am sure I will use it a lot in the upcoming months.

From the same brand I can also recommend the Luminous Creme Lipstick in Rose (5.). The shade is more wearable than Corvina and it’s perfect to brighten up the face and make it appear well rested even if you didn’t actually get much sleep at night.

As in the previous post, I want to finish off with a bang 🙂 Those two shades from Buxom Full Bodied range will definitely make you stand out from the crowd. Exhibitionist (6.) is a bit more of a traditional, cool toned pink (great for making blue eyes pop and teeth appear whiter) with a glossy finish.

And if you’re still looking for a perfect shade of vivid orchid (the color of the year), Swinger should fit right in. I have to admit that for this lipstick I did actually break my “make the product worth the money” rule 🙂 Usually I am not game enough to wear it out, but I do love the shade and just had to have it in my collection.

best lip products for spring

I hope you enjoyed my mini selection of bright lip products and who knows, maybe you may be wearing similar (or exactly the same) shades this spring and summer. I would love to know what are your picks in this category, so please do share in the comments.

See you next time 🙂

  1. Corvina looks great on you Magda! It was on my Bite wishlist, but when I swatched it in Sephora, it looked too orange to me (and I’m a cool-toned fair gal) so I didn’t buy it. I utterly adore Rose and it was my entry into the world of Bite – I can’t see that shade looking bad on anyone tbh.
