As we are slowly approaching the end of Summer in Australia, it’s a good time to have a closer look at your skin. It’s likely that fun days at the beach and being outdoors a lot had an impact on the hydration levels and the overall look of your complexion. If you’re looking for new skincare products to streamline your routine and tackle those issues, today I give you five reasons why you should try Skinstitut products.
If you like quality ingredients without the heavy price tag, you should definitely keep on reading!
Skinstitut products are used in leading skincare clinics
I was first introduced to the brand when I went to have my microdermabrasion treatment at Laser Clinics Australia. Seeing Skinstitut products being used by professionals was a great testimonial to their quality and efficiency. They are designed by cosmetic chemists and pharmacists in order to ensure effective use of active ingredients, delivery systems and formulations, which in turn leads to amazing results. I was also very impressed after reading on the Skinstitut website that they constantly consult with industry professionals to find out about the latest technologies and ingredients and reformulate their products, if needed. That, to me, shows a great commitment to quality and brand’s customers. On top of all that, Skinstitut products are not tested on animals and don’t contain any animal-derived ingredients.
Needless to say, my experience at Laser Clinics Australia and the results I’ve seen instantly have left me wanting more!
They are made in Australia
It always feels great to support local businesses, especially if their products are not only Australian own, but also Australian made. Skinstitut strives to be the leading cosmedical brand in the country by offering top-quality formulations and great value for money.
The packaging is plain and simple, which means that you’re paying for what’s inside
Talking about value for money – each Skinstitut product is $45 AUD, which is very inexpensive comparing to other professional brands. Their packaging may be simple, but it means the brand doesn’t waste their (and your) hard earn money on eye catching details and rather concentrate on what’s inside. If you visit Skinstitut website and go to the ‘Main Ingredients Matrix’, you’ll see a good mixture of natural and high performing, clinically proven ingredients.
To name a few, you can expect to see hyaluronic acid, encapsulated retinol, snake venom, marine collagen and many more! Looking at the ingredient’s lists, I can see that the important ones are usually placed high up, which means there’s a high concentration of skincare heroes you’ll need to look your best.
Skinstitut products are designed to be mixed together for even better results
While the Skinstitut products can be great as standalone additions to your skincare routine, they can also be paired for even better results, depending on your skin’s needs. Let’s have a look at some of them.
- Glycolic Scrub 14% + Multi Active Oil = smooth, radiant skin
- Hydrating Mask + Vitamin C 100% = radiant and plumped complexion (great before big events)
- Age Defence SPF 50 + Vitamin C 100% = supercharged sun protection
- Rejuvenate 15 Serum + Eye Believe = de-puffed eye area
Trained professionals at skin clinics or medical practices will be able to help you create a skincare routine that’s tailored to your needs. You can check the list of stockists and recommended specialists on Skinstitut website.
Lastly, the most important reason why you should give Skinstitut skincare a go is that it works! I’ve been using three products from the brand for just over a month now and noticed a huge improvement in the way my skin feels and looks.
The L-Lactic Cleanser is by far the most comfortable cleanser I’ve ever used. It leaves the skin extremely soft, smooth and plumped (but not tight!). The product pretty much does it all – hydrates your complexion, gently exfoliates, combats congestion and can be used on sensitive skin. It certainly calmed my face down and reduced the redness I used to wake up with quite often, while also minimising the appearence of pores. It’s also worth noting that I have not had a major breakout in a really long time! The cleanser smells nice, is easy to apply and rinse, and doesn’t leave any residue on the skin.
I love the Enzymatic Micro Peel as a leave-on treatment to get rid of the dead skin cells. It’s gentle but very potent, after leaving it on for 5-15 minutes (I usually go for 15), you’ll notice a refreshed and brightened complexion. There’s no stinging, burning feeling or redness on removal – the product is even recommended to use after treatments like microdermabrasion or laser peel. Because it’s so gentle, it can be used as often as required (although I don’t see the need of treating yourself more often than twice a week). If you like enzyme-based exfoliators, you should definitely give this one a go.
The Rejuvenate 15 Serum has been really great for my skin as well. I think it makes it feel and look more youthful, firm and plumped. The biggest difference being around the eye area, where the first signs of ageing are the most noticeable for me. The crow’s feet are still there, but visually there are much less prominent and don’t seem to go as low as before. On top of that, the serum also reduces irritation and sensitivity. It has a gel consistency and absorbs very quickly, leaving a lightly tacky layer on the skin (you won’t feel it once you applied your moisturiser or makeup). It’s a great pick for sun damaged, dehydrated skin types or if you’re concerned about the first signs of ageing.
